Parent Questions + What to Expect
Everything you need to know before getting started, from lesson fit to progress updates and how I personalize the pathway for your child.
🌱 Lesson Fit
What ages do you teach?I typically work with learners ages 4–15, from early speaking confidence to advanced academic English and science-based enrichment.
Do I need to choose the curriculum? No. I use my professional judgment to choose the best-fit materials and pathway based on your child’s goals, confidence, and academic needs.
How do you decide what my child needs? The personalized English placement + trial lesson, intake form, and ongoing progress observations help me recommend and refine the best learning pathway for your child.
What do you look for during the first class?I look at speaking confidence, reading and writing ability, academic needs, science or school support goals, and long-term fluency development so the pathway evolves intentionally as your child grows.
📚 Academic Support
Do you help with school English?Yes. Many learners need support with reading, writing, vocabulary, science, and classroom confidence that connects directly to school success.
Can you support science and writing?Absolutely. Science through English and structured writing support are two of my strongest specialty areas.
Do you help with Cambridge exams?Yes. For learners who need exam support, I can build a pathway that develops the specific reading, writing, speaking, and confidence skills needed.
💻 Logistics
How long are classes? Most lessons are 25–50 minutes depending on age, focus, and attention span. I’ll recommend the best fit for your child.
How often should my child attend? Most families see the strongest progress with 1–2 classes per week, with optional reinforcement tasks between lessons.
Do you give homework? When appropriate, I provide short, meaningful follow-up activities that reinforce vocabulary, reading, writing, or science topics.
🌟 Progress + Communication
Will I receive feedback?Yes. I provide ongoing parent-friendly updates so you always know what your child is working on and how they are growing.
How do you track progress?I monitor confidence, participation, language growth, reading, writing, and academic goals over time so the pathway evolves intentionally.
What happens as my child improves? The learning pathway is continuously refined so lessons stay motivating, appropriately challenging, and aligned with new goals.
📅 Scheduling + Flexibility
Do you offer consistent weekly times?Yes. Most families choose a consistent weekly lesson time so learning becomes part of the child’s routine and progress builds steadily.
What if we need to reschedule?I understand family schedules can change. Rescheduling is possible based on availability, and I’ll always do my best to help families maintain lesson consistency.
Can siblings or small groups learn together?Yes, in some cases I offer sibling or small-group options when the learners are a strong match in level and goals.
🌱 The First Month
What happens after the trial? After the trial, I recommend a personalized learning pathway and begin building lesson continuity around your child’s confidence, goals, and academic needs.
How quickly will we see progress? Many parents notice increased confidence, participation, and stronger speaking within the first few weeks, with deeper literacy and academic growth building over time.
Will the plan change as my child grows?Absolutely. The pathway evolves intentionally so the level of challenge and lesson focus continues to match your child’s development.
